Flocus is a textile brand producing yarn blends and filling made with kapok. Kapok is a sustainable fibre, leaving nearly no carbon footprint. Nature has given kapok numerous properties like its silky soft and dry touch of the fiber itself, antimoth and antimite properties as well as insulation properties comparable to down, and many others.
Utilising kapok, Flocus offers products which can reduce the presence of animal and synthetic products in the market, utilizing a completely natural alternative without abandoning functionality.
This fabric consists of 80% BCI and 20% kapok.
BCI, which stands for the Better Cotton Initiative, exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future. BCI aims to transform cotton production worldwide by developing Better Cotton as a sustainable mainstream commodity. To achieve this mission, BCI works with a diverse range of stakeholders across the cotton supply chain to promote measurable and continuing improvements for the environment, farming communities and the economies of cotton-producing areas.
